BiomatrixWeb is an organization founded by Dr. Elisabeth Dostal. Its focus is the dissemination of Biomatrix Theory and Methodology for social system transformation through books, videos and self-managed education programs.

  • transformation of the worldview of the world’s citizens from industrial age reductionist thinking to w/holistic thinking - the worldview of the information age and

  • w/holistic transformation of the outdated political, economic and cultural legacy systems of the industrial age to make them information-age relevant, sustainable and more beneficial to people and the planet and

  • (dis)solving humanity’s complex problems

  • BIOMATRIX THEORY  which describes how systems are organized in time and space and how they develop and change; and

  • BIOMATRIX METHODOLOGY which outlines the steps and methods involved in social system redesign and system transformation and the dissolving of their complex problems.

Team

Dr Elisabeth Dostal​

Elisabeth is a futurist, management consultant and management educator. In 2004 she founded BiomatrixWeb as an organization for management consulting and educating. Between 1991 and 2004 was a management consultant with Vision in Management, an international management consulting network which she co-founded.

​

Between 1977 and 1991 she held the position of Senior Researcher at the Institute for Futures Research at the University of Stellenbosch in South Africa. She specialized in socio-economic and political forecasting, scenario development and planning. Since 1994 she has also been a part-time lecturer in futurism, systems thinking and systemic management at the University of Stellenbosch, South Africa (1994-2011), University of Johannesburg, South Africa (2001-2010), Erasmus University Rotterdam, the Netherlands (2002-2006).​

Elisabeth holds a PhD in Systems Theory from University of Cape Town, South Africa and a Master’s Degree in Social Sciences from Johannes Kepler University of Linz, Austria.  She (co-)authored various scientific articles and two books on Biomatrix Systems Theory and its application through Biomatrix Methodology (see list of scientific publications in the theory section and list of publications in the methodology section).

David is a co-founder of BiomatrixWeb.  He contributed to the development of the organisation from the perspective of his consulting experience in change management, organisational development, IT based business transformation, process manufacturing, preventive maintenance and TQM in both production and service industries.​

​

He was also in charge of the technical production and implementation of all Biomatrix Programs, including the online learning management system, customized data integration platform and the initial design and management of the BiomatrixWeb webpage.

​

His previous work experience involves a wide range of process improvement projects as a Kaizen Institute New Zealand consultant, as well as project management and preventive maintenance services at TSV Consulting (New Zealand). David has a Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Computer Science and Master’s Degree in Quality Assurance from Brno University of Technology (Czech Republic).

Hagar studied philosophy, politics, theatre, branding and working as a lecturer, curriculum designer, event producer, curator, UX designer, copywriter, brand manager, facilitator.​ She met Elisabeth Dostal and Biomatrix Theory and Methodology in her last year of study at Vega (South Africa’s leading Brand School).

 

She subsequently took a job at Cape MIC (The Music Industry Commission) and began immediately to implement the Biomatrix knowledge towards a music industry re-design and the dissolving of complex industry problems. In 2014, she spearheaded a Music Industry Biomatrix Jam, taking it to national and international conferences, workshops, lectures and arts policy creation platforms.She also inspired dissemination of Biomatrix Theory and Methodology and the co-development of the methodology through a visual curriculum and narrative style to entice young leaders of all ages to want to solve the problems of the world. Since then she continues to make original conceptual and strategic contributions to BiomatrixWeb. Since 2018  she is engaged with Platoon Africa, which oversees the campaigns of many famous African musical artists.

Barbora Hromadova

Barbora is the manager of the Biomatrix Education Program and liaises with and provides support to our education partners.​ She is responsible for all aspects of BiomatrixWeb publications as well as marketing and promotion of BiomatrixWeb and its products.

​

Barbora contributed to the development of the Biomatrix Programs through her experience in editing, graphic design and video presentations. She was also in charge of the production of the next generation of biomatrix figures used for the new book Biomatrix Systems Theory in Graphics.

​

​Her background in publishing involves public relations management role at Southern Publishers Group, independent book distributor (New Zealand) and development of electronic dictionaries and language tools at Lingea (Czech Republic). She has a Master’s Degree in English and Spanish languages and literature from Masaryk University in Brno (Czech Republic).

Juanique's academic background is in Journalism. She studied the Biomatrix in 2016 through the lens of the Hegelian Dialectic, which inspired a limited edition podcast entitled: Beyond the Paradox. Themes intersect where artificial intelligence, complexity science, pop culture and development meet. These explorations remind us that how we use data to tell stories today, can shape the kind of world we live in tomorrow.

Under the purview of her consultancy, Social Intel, Juanique engaged an extensive client base in social development over the past two decades. Over this period she helped numerous philanthropic organizations, NGOs and corporate foundations link strategy and storytelling. She is currently driving a (re)design in the philanthropy, natural systems regeneration, and education sectors in partnership with The Saville Foundation, based on the Biomatrix Methodology. 

​

She is also responsible for the redesign of the webpage of BiomatrixWeb and co-responsible for the strategic re-orientation of the organisation from mostly addressing managers, to communicating with the citizens of the world.
